Finders Keepers

Have you ever seen that HGTV show where they feature people who found old treasures in their homes while remodeling? I've watched that show and always secretly hoped that one day we'd find something spectacular... something other than old glass Dr. Pepper bottles or rusted train track spikes. Well, up till now, I always thought that kind of thing was either staged or that those people must have just been incredibly lucky. But the other day, while clearing out another (blasted) closet to paint (add another expletive here), Tim found something cool. Granted, it was in an old jar of "suppositories" (which I would NEVER have DARED to open)! The jar was full of really cool old coins; like old silver dollars, half dollars, and Italian currency. I don't know anything about old coinage, but I am now inspired to do a bit of research! I'll let ya'll know if we actually found a bit of treasure or not. (I know we had a few "Walking Liberty" halves.) Who knows, maybe one day you'll see us on that show! (Doubtful, but fun to think about.)

The people that live next to my Hubby's aunt found a pile of old bullets in the ceiling of their dining room when they were remodelling! Not just casings, but actual bullets, for an old style of gun (their house is about 80 years old). Creepy, huh?

Your find was better! :)
