Primp My Bookcart

Not a lot of newness here in my neck of the woods (hence the lack of posts). I am doing a noteworthy program at the library, however. It's called Primp My Bookcart - "primp" because my boss freaked at the thought of me using the word "pimp" on a library flyer. (She was like, "Suzy! Do you even know what that word means?!?" {Gasp}) I can't take credit for the hilariousness / creativity of the program, though. The program idea came from the web library comic Tim and I read called Unshelved. (This link will take you to the comic sequence on the pimping...) So far, I've only had boy interest in the project, so I am thinking that this cart will end up looking like a glorified hotwheel car. (Pictures to follow...)

That is an awesome idea!! I'm going to steal it and tell our head librarian (our library is so teeny tiny that she does it all!)
I hope you don't mind. It would be a cool thing for the summer program!!

Even though I sometimes lurk, I thought I'd leave a comment on this one.
Do you need me to explain to you what the word "pimp" means? It's OK if you don't know, I'll be happy to explain it when I see you next (which will be when?) Maybe if you actually had a picture of a pimp(perhaps reading a book!) that would attract the interests of more people (boys and girls.)

Suzy,
Aren't Librarians fun? They complain that they can't reach the youth of the communities but refuse to try something new. Don't they know that kids today use more colorful words than that in their vocabularies. Ho Hum, the boring life of a librarian! Keep those great ideas coming. One day the directors will be young and creative too like the new breed of librarians.
